Once again, as with Case Study House #22, the Stahl House, the architect demonstrates his appetite for challenging hillside sites with a rigorous, highly intellectual approach to design and a mastery of concrete, glass and steel. One of only two Koenig houses sided with stucco, as opposed to steel decking, this home is unique, and a living testament to the lasting philosophy of Less is More. Using an inverted plan, the street-level entrance leads directly to the second floor, with public spaces oriented around a central two-story core, anchored by a wood-burning fireplace at the heart of the home.
